Question: How to Change the World? Answer: You Matter Too

We can’t change ‘the whole world’ all by ourselves but we can change ‘our own world.’ There are people around us, making up a community. Whatever that community consists of lies in the people: their potential, their interests, their choices, their lives. It takes the person to want to start changing that person. It takes a community to change a community.

Don’t feel you HAVE to take on the world to be great. If that’s what you want to do, all the more power to you. Just know their are people around you for support, resources to access so you don’t have to do this all by your lonesome. Unity among people is key to achieve a level of success for a community or even the world. And in order to have unity more than one person needs to be involved because there must be an agreement of matters and how to go about achieving success in those areas. Although, success may be a goal, and healthy to strive after, don’t let success to cloud your judgement.

It isn’t just about us changing the ‘whole world’ as much as it actually can be about us changing the world on a smaller scale. I’m not even talking about determining to change our community or another person’s own personal world. As many of you have probably heard the phrase, “change starts with me,” I have surely found this to be true. If I don’t know how and can’t help myself, how on earth could I successfully help another human being?

We wouldn’t call it your life without you in it. If everyone’s life were about inner-self and bettering oneself then everyone could be on a major headstart on impacting this world. I am not saying you need to be perfect to impact someone. I just want to emphasize the fact that, “you are important too.” Life is a domino affect. It brings to mind that famous Neil Armstrong quote, “That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” It was one small step he took out on the moon but it symbolized such a huge accomplishment for not just America, but for the ability mankind mankind has to impact, not only this world but the universe itself. Our potential is that of greatness.

The definition of greatness by Webster dictionary says, “The state, condition, or quality of being great; as, greatness of size, greatness of mind, power, etc.” Greatness in and of itself may most definitely be individualized. Greatness for one person may vary from the next person. Taking your first step after a physical tragedy is greatness for one person. While for another may be just landing a higher level job in their career chain. One, not more great than the next, just individually rated for oneself. Our point of view can certainly be screwed at times. “Common sense” shouldn’t always be a community go to resource of advice. Sometimes humanity has an era where certain outlooks of the time period may not be the “domino effect” we need. The case for this may be sticking to a box that has engaged and confined humanity versus actually protecting humanity. Some may feel this box may only have protected us from achieving a greater level of greatness we have so desired.

Another important point should be brought up before the conclusion of this article. Think to yourself as to why you think the whole world should be changed or altered in some way. Most likely you will think of all the bad going on the earth. I’m this case I would ask you to look once again at this earth. Come up with the good you can see because the best about be impactful is hopefully that you will impact something for the better. Start recognizing the good. You can use this to emphasize and make the positive overpower and even lessen the bad. You may be able to get rid of some bad but as soon as there is an emptiness there will be a desire for it to be filled. It may just end up being filled once again with negative, unless of course you already have a positive to come in to play. People seem to focus so much in the negative. Focusing on bad won’t make it good. Anyway, this ‘positive over negative’ is for a whole other blog post.

In closing, I hope this article inspires you to discover self, root for your self-betterment, change the world by changing your’s first because you matter too! Sometimes we look everywhere for the answer except for the place where the answer really lies. ”How do I change the world?”, you ask? Not by changing everything around you. Start with you because you matter too.
