The Struggle is Real, So is God

Updated: Feb 22, 2019

The struggle  is real. You may have heard this saying/phrase in the recent years. I am not sure how it started. I heard it first when I went to college. The time of LOTS of coffee, little to no sleep and struggles beyond imagining. So I guess it was fitting for my fellow classmates and I to use this phrase. We just really felt the need to state the obvious as if it would help the struggle pass, We would then say, "The struggle is real." The struggle would not pass.

I do not know if they felt a sense of relief claiming the struggle on their life or what but I was like, " let's get going struggle. I, uh, have a life to live here. Thank you! "

What many people do not do in a struggle is reach out for help. maybe that was the whole point of this phrase. I mean it is great to reach out. By doing so it is possible to obtain the resources you need to achieve success or conquer in a particular situation.

But I guess a question for me about this phrase, because I question everything, what does it really do to state the obvious of a struggle being real? It is just there in your face you don't know where to go, where to turn. Have we ever really looked at the solution here? Or will we stop at,"The struggle is real"?

Can we just take a moment and let that sink in.

What comes after the struggle?

I don't know about you but joy comes in the morning for me. Psalm 126:5,"They that sew intears shall reap in joy."

If we trust God with our struggle He is able to take our load. Matthew 11:30 says, "For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

The struggle may be real, the opposition may be great but our God is greater. Romans 8:31, "What shall we say then to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"
