Caving In

Life is difficult. As we all know, life is unfair. I am creating this post out of a time in my life that may seem to others as unfair. However, I find it as a lesson. The situation is just a trial God has allowed in order to teach and strengthen me. I can truly apply the phrase, “ Life is what you make it, ” to my struggle.
No, I may not always smile or act like I am on top of the world. I feel that I am certainly making lemonade out of lemons. Sometimes you have to try the recipe before it’s perfected. Taste the sour so the recipe doesn’t end up overly bitter or sweet. My point being, the only way to deal with these situations is tasting reality.
Although this is best way to approach a problem, in my opinion, there is a different between God’s reality and our reality. Which means there is a difference between God’s perception and human perception. God’s perception being 100% accurate and truth, obviously mine being less than perfect. Part of reality for me is accepting that I don’t know the full answer to some situations. My then realistic view would be to hand the creator what I, myself, cannot handle and ask for His help. I will get to my point soon. I promise.
First Corinthians 10:13, “There hath no temptation taken hold of you but such as is common to man. But God is faithful; He will not suffer you to be tempted beyond that which ye are able to bear, but with the temptation will also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
I am a firm believer that if we ask God to take away the situation, He can do one of two things, say yes and take the situation away, or say no and help teach you strength, perseverance and to build a stronger foundation on the Word of God. I am finally getting closer to my point now! The other day I was praying about my situation. I asked God how to get through. I desperately wanted a solution for my problem. An image came to my mind of a cave. I pictured it caving in and for some reason I thought of my life as a cave, caving in at the pressure and earthquakes life has sent it. Then the image of the cave was filled with good structure. I know life is not a cave nor would I ever want to live in a cave. It just seemed to be a good parallel to the story in the Bible about the house that was built upon the sand that didn’t withstand the storm of life and the house upon a solid rock foundation withstood the storm of life. For whatever reason I feel like I am living in a cave (apparently not the particularly best time in my life), but you work with what you‘ve got I guess.
I believe the reason that I saw in that “vision”, for lack of a better word, my life as a cave because all that I know in life is caving in. What life I once built up, destroyed. It is an example that our abilities for what can build, in no way, surpasses that of what God is capable of creating and building in our lives if we let Him.
I am worth more than living in a cave of expectations I hold myself to or the world holds me to. So why live in it. If your world is caving in, step out of that cave, run out of it if you have to but don’t stay there and suffocate. You are worth more than that.
How do you think you are limiting yourself or allowing others to limit you?
How can you take steps to cut off from what is impacting you negatively and what steps could you take to access your potential in living a life on a strong foundation?

I am mainly fine just going through the process and resources that can make my situation as good as it can be for the time being. God is certainly in control.
Oh pumpkin! I am also in a cave, caving in. I thought I raised our children properly but seeing our 17 year old rebel has me going crazy. I know only God can help him. If you need to chat, I am here
